'Thursday Murder Club' Author Defends Pierce Brosnan Netflix Movie Casting
'The Thursday Murder Club' writer Richard Osman has defended the casting of Pierce Brosnan as Ron in the Netflix film adaptation of his book.

The Thursday Murder Club brings together "the Mount Rushmore of British acting giants," with Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, and Ben Kingsley all starring in the Netflix film adaptation of Richard Osman's bestselling debut novel. Some people were surprised by who's in the whodunnit, particularly the casting of Brosnan as Ron Ritchie, a neck-tattooed ex-union activist, as many envisioned him to be played by an actor like Ray Winstone, who is known for portraying tough guy characters, rather than the suave former James Bond star.
