Well, the Berlin International Film Festival is in progress, just after the end of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, so you know what that means — the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival is right around the corner! Yes, film fans, we're in the thick of it, with anticipated movies and new surprises being relentlessly praised and derided, screened and discussed, mostly by insulated industry elites. Sure, it doesn't really matter to most people (it's a little hard for us working-class plebeians to see the majority of these films until they secure distribution and get a theatrical or streaming release). Nevertheless, it is important for cinephiles and the movie industry in general.
