'Star Wars: Andor' Season 2 Is Four Seasons Contracted Into One
'Andor' will return to Disney+ with one of the most unique formats of any Star Wars show, but that was not always the plan.
Andor became one of the greatest entries in the Star Wars franchise when it was released on Disney+, and Season 2 is about to be released with a unique format that essentially combines four seasons of the show into one. Rather than focusing on a specific, tight timeline, the season will span several of the Star Wars universe’s early Rebellion years, with four sets of three episodes each focusing on a different position in time between the end of Andor Season 1 and the events of Rogue One. In the new edition of SFX Magazine, creator Tony Gilroy explained how the interesting challenge came about “out of desperation” to tell the whole story as quickly, but meaningfully, as possible.
