Red 2

Following the sleeper hit of 2010, "RED 2" brought back the action-comedy formula that audiences loved.  Bruce Willis once again reprises his role as Frank Moses, a retired CIA black ops agent who can't seem to escape his past.

RED Gets Reunited: A Look at the Sequel, RED 2

This time, Frank and his team – the ever-reliable Joe (Morgan Freeman), the volatile Marvin (John Malkovich), and the sharpshooting Victoria (Helen Mirren) – find themselves targeted by a new enemy.  A jackal-like figure known only as "The Korean" seeks to uncover a secret device Frank possesses from his past missions.

As the team delves deeper into the mystery, they uncover a conspiracy involving a retired nuclear physicist and a hidden weapon of mass destruction.  This puts them on a collision course with international assassins, the ever-present threat of the CIA, and even a new, tech-savvy recruit played by Anthony Hopkins.

"RED 2" ups the ante on the action sequences, offering even more thrilling shootouts, explosions, and close calls.  The film doesn't shy away from its comedic roots though, with the banter between the seasoned cast remaining a highlight.  Seeing these veteran actors continue to deliver sharp wit while facing down impossible odds is a recipe for entertainment.

While not quite capturing the surprise of the original, "RED 2" is a worthy sequel that delivers more action, humor, and reunites a beloved cast.  If you enjoyed the first film, "RED 2" proves that Frank Moses and his team are far from finished.
