'Cobra Kai's William Zabka recalls the original pitch and it was unlike anything the Netflix martial arts comedy became.
Cobra Kaistar William Zabkahas revealed some very interesting details about the original series pitch. Initially, the project's scope was not as big as it ended up being, and it focused almost completely on Johnny Lawrence (Zabka). It was a "redemption arc" and not much else. Luckily, Zabka asked the right questions to ensure things changed: "Well, you can't just go do a Karate Kid movie and not make sure that everybody's on board."
