Before Kevin Costner achieved Hollywood stardom with the hit 1987 crime film The Untouchables, his breakthrough role came in the 1985 Western film Silverado, in which his magnetic performance as Jake, an impulsive gunslinger with a shoot-first-ask-questions-later attitude, established Costner as an exciting and unpredictable actor who was seemingly capable of doing anything.
