How 'Novocaine' Redefines the Action Comedy Genre
While this is certainly an action comedy, it brings fresh ideas to the table that set it apart from other movies in the genre.

After portraying the insufferable and sinister male protagonist of Companion earlier this year, Jack Quaid continues his hot streak in Paramount's action-comedy, Novocaine. Playing quite the opposite of his Companion character, Quaid plays a socially awkward 30-year-old assistant bank manager named Nathan Caine who has a rare condition that leaves him unable to feel physical pain. After finally working up the courage to go out with a woman he works with, she is soon kidnapped by bank robbers when they take her hostage. Using his condition to his advantage, he decides to go after the bank robbers to save her.
