The 2010s saw plenty of great TV shows about surveillance and globetrotting by secret agents.
The spy genre might be thriving better than ever in the 2020s, but it would be nowhere near as good as today if it weren’t for the key building blocks put in place by shows from the 2010s. During this particular decade, the genre mostly embraced realism, moving away from the absurdity and comicality of Chuck and Burn Notice to a grittier space that reflected actual happenings in real-world espionage.
